dog-friendly atmosphere, convenient parking across the road, pleasant beer garden by the canal
The hotel seems to prioritize dining over guest accommodations!!! Rooms are noisy due to the main road, and dated fittings need attention. A designated lounge area for hotel guests would be a nice touch too!!!

The Royal has a lovely atmosphere, and I was impressed by the cleanliness throughout. My twin room with a shower offered a comfortable stay, and the beer garden by the canal was a great spot to unwind. The pet-friendly menu is excellent, and the staff genuinely love dogs, which made my pet feel welcome. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, especially the hearty portions. the service could be a bit slow during busy times. I noticed limited gluten-free options on the menu, which might be disappointing for some. it’s a solid place for pet owners and those wanting a nice meal.

Lovely spot with good vibes
We stayed for 2 nights and had a chill time. The beer garden is gorgeous and perfect for some sun. The room was basic but comfy, just a bit noisy due to a fan outside our window. Great selection at the bar, loved the homey feel. Breakfast was on us at a nearby cafe, which was fab!

I had a fantastic stay here and really appreciated the spacious room and the convenience of outside stairs for my dogs. The lovely garden area was perfect for relaxing in the evening after a busy day. The only small downside was some noise from the restaurant area, but it didn't take away from my overall great experience! 🐶

Lovely stay with fab food
Had a nice night here! The food was top-notch, especially breakfast—hot and worth every penny. Staff were super friendly too! The room was comfy, but the place could use a lil update inside. The beer garden was a plus for family time, though crossing from the car park was a hassle.

The double room was tidy and comfortable, and the shower was exceptional, making for a pleasant stay. The bar area was inviting with a nice beer selection, and the breakfast, particularly the black pudding bonbons, was a highlight. the meal I had on my second night was a bit dry, likely from sitting too long, and there was a missed opportunity for staff to check in after our meal. it was a good experience but had its drawbacks.
